Which Commitments Are Eligible Under the Flex Commitment Program?

The Flex Commitment Program is designed to offer maximum flexibility and cost efficiency when managing your cloud commitments. All commitments that Usage charges for and provides cashback for are covered under this program.

What Is Covered Under the Flex Commitment Program?

  • Eligible Commitments:
Every commitment that Usage optimizes, manages, and generates savings from—where we bill you a percentage of the realized savings and provide cashback protection—is considered part of the Flex Commitment Program. This applies to all recommendations on the Usage dashboard.
  • How Commitments Are Managed:
Once you approve a savings recommendation in the Usage platform, we initiate the commitment process by calling your cloud provider’s API (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to purchase the commitment. This commitment is then automatically marked as a Flex Commitment within your dashboard.

How to Identify Flex Commitments

  • Navigate to the “Active Commitments” tab in the Usage dashboard.
  • Use the drop-down filter to easily toggle between:
    • Your Existing Commitments: Commitments you’ve purchased directly.
    • Usage’s Flex Commitments: Commitments managed under the Flex Commitment Program.

This helps you clearly distinguish between your own commitments and those managed by Usage for flexible optimization. Why This MattersBy identifying which commitments fall under the Flex Commitment Program, you can:

  • Track the performance of your optimized commitments.
  • Review how Usage is actively managing your cloud spend.
  • Ensure transparency in billing, savings, and cashback benefits.
